Today's Community Health Fair at the Vietnamese Federation of San Diego was very well prepared by all the teams. Although the number of attendees was modest, each participant got dedicated attention and full services: for hepatitis B and C via standard of care tests (sent to Quest Diagnostics) and Point of Care for HCV, hypertension screening, height and weight for BMI calculations, and bone densitometry. Pre and post tests were performed at the designated station.
Results of tests were recorded on a tri-fold passport, to help Dr. Ton Tran during final consultation.
Pharmacist Tuyet Phan and Lue Lao, 4th yr Medical Student, got training on HCV Rapid Test from Dr. Kayla Giang. Coordinators for the event were: Nguyen Vo, Kim Chi Nguyen, and Phong Nguyen.
Different groups of students were assigned to the stations, rotated from the last health fair at Nhu Lai Temple.
One youngest visitor came with his father. The crying baby was calmed by Tuyet, who recommended warm water with honey to alleviate his cough.
