The Asian Pacific Health Foundation collaborated with the Pacific Islander Student Association on February 15, 2020. The outreach was held on a beautifully sunny day at the National City Fire Department Station 34 in National City from 11:00AM - 2:00PM. The outreach site was located conveniently alongside the Boys and Girls Club of Greater San Diego and the Kimball Senior Center, which allowed us to assist a diverse range of the community.
APHF’s operation team arrived early at 10:00AM to set-up and began operation at 11:00AM. With support from the Pacific Islander Student Association, we were able to register our patients for our comprehensive screenings, which included Hepatitis B and C, hypertension, cholesterol, diabetes, and eye care. At this event, we were able to serve the Pacific Islander community, amongst the greater Asian community. Our foundation would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to the National City Fire Department for setting up the venue and providing tables and chairs.
The event showed a high turnout, as patients returned to bring their own family members and recommended friends to participate in our screenings.
We would like to express our appreciation to all staff and volunteers at the health outreach
