MEDICAL INTERPRETER APPLICATION PROCESS

For Core Volunteers:

The Medical Interpreter Exam is open for approximately one month each cycle. Once volunteers have been onboarded, emails regarding registration will be sent out.

  1. Volunteers will complete the registration form and choose their top 3 dates to take the exam.

  2. A Medical Interpreter Examiner will reach out to the volunteer to organize an exam date and send the necessary study materials.

  3. Exams are conducted virtually and usually last for a duration of one hour. The results will be relayed during the exam session or soon after within the same day.

If You Are Accepted as a Medical Interpreter

  1. External Medical Interpreters will be required to complete an APHF eLearning orientation before they are able to assist with outreaches.

  2. The eLearning orientation will prepare External Medical Interpreters to participate in outreaches, providing information about APHF, the diseases we screen for, and our outreach stations. Core Volunteers will have already completed this training as a part of their initial onboarding process.

  3. A one-time membership fee of $10 is required. All membership fees go towards funding equipment and supplies in support of hosting free outreach events.

  4. Once onboarding is completed, External Medical Interpreters will be able to register for and join APHF outreaches.

Failure to complete these requirements will result in immediate withdrawal of your application.
