The Volunteer Cycle

The following cycle will serve as a general outline starting from when a volunteer is onboarded with our team until their contract ends.

  1. Application is submitted by the volunteer for review by Program Coordinators.

  2. Program Coordinators will notify volunteers that application has been received and under review after the application deadline.

  3. Program Coordinators will notify volunteers whether they are accepted and provide instructions for volunteer training and required form submissions.

  4. Accepted volunteers who complete the training modules and submit all required forms will receive details regarding Volunteer Orientation from Program Coordinators.

  5. Registration emails will be sent out for volunteers to sign up to outreaches.

  6. Selection emails will notify which volunteers have been selected for the outreach. If you are unable to attend, you are responsible for finding a replacement. Please review our Policies and Guidelines for more details.

  7. Volunteers will review the Station Manual for their assigned station and come prepared to the outreach.

2023-2024 APPLICATION PERIODS

Fall Cycle Application Period: September 25, 2023 - October 13, 2024 (CONCLUDED)

Winter Cycle Application Period: December 14, 2023 - January 8, 2024 (CONCLUDED)

Spring Cycle Application Period: March 14, 2024 - April 8, 2024 (ONGOING!)

Summer Cycle Application Period: June 13, 2024 - July 8, 2024

If You Are Accepted as a Volunteer

  • Review the policies and guidelines at this link here.

  • See “COVID-19 Updates” for changes to membership fee. 

  • Program Coordinators will send an email regarding your acceptance and instructions on how to navigate the online training. Before you can start the online training modules, a pre-training module must be completed. In the pre-training module, you will be instructed to complete and submit the following documents:

    • Volunteer Contract: outlines the terms and agreement of your volunteer status with APHF

    • UCSD HIPAA Tutorial / Certification

  • Complete and earn a passing score on the training modules in order to be eligible for outreach participation. Your acceptance email will provide details on how to access the training and the deadline for completion.

  • Attend a mandatory Station Training Orientation when in-person outreach operations resume. More details to come from the Program Coordinators.

 

Failure to complete these requirements will result in immediate withdrawal of your application.
