On December 1st, 2019, we returned to the familiar venue with an enthusiastic group of volunteers/students from UCSD School of Medicine, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, San Diego State University, University of California, San Diego.
Dr. Robert Gish, Medical Director, gave an impactful lecture on metabolic diseases including liver diseases (NAFLD and NASH) and hepatitis B and C to the largest group of professional students so far. Vivian Ngo, APHF Program Manager, gave details on counseling section and how to assess patients’ understanding of the material based on post-test results.
We were glad to welcome Dr. Danh Truong, Board Chair, and Dr. Khanh Vu on their first visit to Access Center. Our thanks to Anna Lu for introducing the co-workers on the Alzheimer's project, who will coordinate with APHF to hold comprehensive health outreach events at churches in National City in 2020.
We also thank Daisy Alonso and Julieta Gonzalez, coordinators at ACCESS, for opening the Center for our use today, with expert English - Spanish translators for the attendees.
